Meet Teela

I have always been an active person. I played sports growing up and continue to play competitive tennis and strength train regularly. I worked out here and there in college, never following a program. I would go to the gym, do some “legs” or “arms”, hit the cardio machine for 20 minutes, and call it a day. After graduation, I moved from Murray to Nashville and began gaining weight quickly. I didn’t like the way I was starting to look, but more importantly, I didn’t like the way I felt.

In 2017, I moved back to Murray, started dating my now husband, and we were engaged in the Spring of 2018. I was the heaviest I had ever been. I was eating anything I wanted, drinking alcohol socially, and being extremely inconsistent in the gym.

Finally, in the fall of 2018, I started participating in boot camp classes. I fell in love with the intensity of the classes and the community of women. In 2021, I was offered an opportunity to teach group fitness classes of my own. I jumped at the chance, got my group fitness certification, and started helping other women become the best version of themselves.

In 2023, I finished my American Council on Exercise personal training certification course and began taking one-on-one clients while continuing to teach classes. Finally, in September of 2024, we were fortunate enough to open empowHER and create a space for all women to feel safe, comfortable, and welcome. My cup is filled watching women grow to believe in themselves and do things they never thought possible. Getting to watch my client’s confidence grow every day is something that I am truly honored to be a part of.

As a mom of two daughters (plus a very large dog), Riggins understands that fitness looks different in every season of life. Her approach is empathetic, knowledgeable, and deeply supportive—focused on meeting your body where it is and building confidence that carries into every area of life.

Her goal? For you to leave training feeling heard, empowered, and confident in your strength.

Meet Kelsey Skirka

Originally from Michigan, Skirka has lived in Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee with her husband Dan and their son, Keegan. She brings a strong healthcare background to the gym, starting as a Physical Therapy Assistant before earning her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.

Skirka loves lifting weights (especially lower body ) and walking, and she knows firsthand how powerful group classes can be for accountability. Her coaching style is collaborative, encouraging, and honest—focused on helping you feel confident, supported, and excited to come back for more.

Her goal is simple but powerful: to help clients gain confidence while encouraging overall health and wellness that lasts beyond the gym.

Fun fact: Wonderwall is her go-to karaoke song.
